Great Eastern Hotel, Duke Street, Glasgow. Built 1849 originally as a cotton mill for R.F & J. Alexander (thread manufacturer) by the architect C. Wilson. It was converted into a working mans hotel in 1909 and more recently it had been used as a refuge for the homeless, closing it’s doors in 2001. The building has ‘B’ listed status and there are plans to develop it into residential properties.
