Harbour Tunnel, Tunnel Street to Plantation Place (Finnieston & Govan). Built between 1890-96 and consisted of two tunnels to take vehicles, and a pedestrian tunnel. The vehiclular tunnel closed in 1943, but it wasn’t until 1987 that the pedestrian tunnel closed. The North tunnel is currently a Casino, whereas the South tunnel remains empty (2008).

Built in 1903-1914, architects Archibald Leitch and Brand & Lithgow. First reinforced concrete structure of this scale in Glasgow.

Paint Warehouse

Former paint warehouses, Tradeston Street, Glasgow.

A very attractive four storey terra-cotta brick building, in a Venetian Gothic style. Built for Blacklock, McArthur & Co. 1888-1900.
